Women4IT Testimonial - Data Analyst

My name is Manvi and I joined the Data Dnalyst course offered by the Women4IT project in Ireland. I was finishing my Masters in Economics from UCD so this course segued nicely to equip me with data analysis tools that were industry-specific. The program eventually led me to my current role as an Executive Officer at Revenue.

1. Why did you decide to start the Women4IT course? I wanted to enhance my quantitative skills. The data analysis course covered every aspect and knowledge required to work successfully in any industry. We learned Python, Tableau Power BI, SQL in real-time with our mentors in small batches. We eventually completed a technical project to attest to our skills. Thus, the program was a perfect blend of practical application as well as theory.
2. How was your experience with the course? The course was very well managed and easy to follow. The mentors guided us expertly through the basics as well as the advanced application. The course was well-paced and the mentors were very understanding of problems that arose along the way and organized special sessions for the students to catch up.
3. What have you learned during the course? The course curriculum included Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and many other tools for data analytics that are used in the industry.
4. What has the course given you? I was able to get into my current role as an Executive Officer because of the technical skills and access to opportunities that I acquired because of this course. The mentors also guided me through the interview process.
5. How have you grown professionally? I have been equipped with technical skills and knowledge which are invaluable in the industry. My career has definitely progressed due to the competencies developed during the course.
6. How have you grown personally? The course also emphasized teamwork and developing interpersonal skills. The team members used to work together to troubleshoot queries which have allowed me to develop personally.
7. Would you recommend it to a friend? Why? I would unreservedly recommend this course to anyone. It provides invaluable insights into the technical skills required for data analytics and up-to-date industry knowledge.
8. Anything else you would like to share with us? The whole team involved in this process have managed to achieve a truly valuable resource for any woman who wishes to enter this industry.
